Joanne Salerno, Founder and Senior Medical Aesthetician is a 25 year career professional in skin care and aesthetics. She studied in Paris, Montreal and New York and became an educator for leading researchers, manufacturers and developers of advanced skin care products and techniques.
Ms. Salerno has contributed her skills to distinguished spas and medical facilities in New York, Connecticut, winning numerous awards in the industry for her achievements in progressive skin care and makeup. She is fully accredited for all med-spa services and product applications,with certification from such med-spa suppliers as Biomedic, Remergent, Skin Medica, Promedis and Somme Institute.
Salvatore A. Farruggio, MD, FACS – Supervising Physician
The oversight for ElixirSpa medical procedures and therapies rests with Salvatore Farruggio, M.D. Dr. Farruggio graduated from Valhalla's New York Medical College in 1988, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. Over the course of the following five years, he performed a General Surgery Residency at Valhalla’s Westchester County Medical Center, ultimately completing his plastic surgery training at the University of Oklahoma and his plastic surgery fellowship at New York City's Lenox Hospital. Dr. Farruggio is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and licensed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is trained in all aspects of plastic surgery and specializes in body contouring, including abdomnio-plasty, breast augmentation and liposuction. He is member of the American Medical Association, an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Farruggio has also been a member of the FDA Silicone AdjunctStudy and the New York Medical College.
